Death Battle: Jaegers vs Godzilla by Sideswipe217 Death Battle: Jaegers vs Godzilla by Sideswipe217
Here's my first Death Battle meme. With Pacific Rim about to hit theaters soon, I've been wondering (as I'm sure many folks have) what would a battle between Godzilla and the Jaegers be like? In this case I'm referring to all the Jaegers : Gipsy Danger, Crimson Typhoon, Striker Eureka, Cherno Alpha and Coyote Tango (who's not in this picture I know). Let me know in the comments guys which Jaeger who'd want Godzilla to fight, and what you think of Pacific Rim. Once the movie comes out, I'll be posting a review of it here on dA. Laters ;)

Before I put up a debate. I want to ask you several questions about the Jaegers, because I never saw Pacific Rim:

1.) What are the Jaeger's power source?
2.) Is a live person insidde?
3.) If not, how far away are the operators?
4.) Do they normally return to any type of hangar?

To answer your questions my friend:
1. Mark 1's, 2's & 3's run on nuclear reactors. Mark 4's & 5's are digital and I believe some are plasma powered (don't hold me to that)

2. There are 2 pilots (3 in the case of Crimson Typhoon), one for the left and one for the right like the human brain. It helps to take the strain off a single person's mind as the Jaegers are so complex, that a single mind cannot take the strain (with the exceptions of Stacker Pentecost and Raleigh Beckett)

3. The pilots are located in the mech's head and act as the brain. The movement of the pilots translates to the Jaeger &

4. Yes they do return to a hangar after battle, the Shatterdome as it's called.

I hope that clears things up :)

Thank you :D

Now that I have the information I need, I can start my debate.....

Godzilla would OWN the Jaegers.

Godzilla's radiation levels might not harm the ones with the nuclear power system, so that is one point for the Jaegers.

But, the pilots are in the Jaegers head. So Godzilla's radiation blast would KILL the pilots. Godzilla can make 3 street blocks INHABITABLE due to his high level of radiation, so he would kill the pilots just by standing near them.

But, like you said, Mark 1, 2 and 3 run on nuclear reactors. So the Jaeger would most likely be radiation proof.
Lets say that they somehow manage to kill Godzilla.

Godzilla's radiation will still stick on the Jaegers surface. So once the Jaeger returns to the hangar, they would kill everybody surrounding them.

So, I am voting for Godzilla.

Good solid points. However the Mark 1 Jaegers had a nasty unforseen side-effect: They were (as Pentecost says in the film) "scrapped together in 14 months." As such this meant they didn't have proper reactor shielding and many of the Mark 1 pilots often ending up dying of radiation sickness. The only remaining Mark 1 pilots in the story proper of Pacific Rim are Stacker Pentecost (who is dying due to radiation sickness), Herc Hanson (who now pilots the Mark 5 Australian Jaeger Striker Eureka along side his douche of a son Chuck) & Sasha & Aleksis Kaidonovsky (the Russian husband & wife team who pilot Cherno Alpha the only remaining Mark 1 Jaeger still in service).

So. The Mark's are unstable with radiation, but their main power source is a nuclear source. So if other Jaegers DONT have this power source, they will probably not have great shielding against the radiation?

Oh no. After this discovery, the PPDC installed improved reactor shielding on all following Jaeger series. Also Mark 2 & 3 pilots started taking Metharocin to help prevent radiation sickness should the shielding become damaged in any way/shape/form

Order in which Big G would utterly destroy the Jaegers:

Cherno Alpha AND Coyote Tango, mainly since both are nuclear powered and well... Godzilla would just DEVOUR the radiation nuclear reactors powering both ... and just use them to supercharge him or just to sate his appetite.

Gypsy Danger: Would be BITCH-SLAPPED to death by Godzilla... or just torn apart from the Big guy's GOD-LIKE strenght... and like Cherno and Coyote... he'd EAT THE RADIATION out of this fucker.

Crimson Typhoon: Mainly because it's more a close-range fighter and well... since it's unable to do ANY damage with those saw-blade arm things... it would more then likely be hit by one of Big G's Nuclear pulses... which would probably fry the living FUCK out the Jaeger's shit and most likely just  bite the HEAD off of Crimson Typhoon thus killing all the pilots.

Striker Eureka: Since he's MUCH faster then Godzilla... would probably be blasted by his Atomic Breath, and that much RAW NUCLEAR radiation being blasted at the body of the Jaeger would light those pilots up like a fucking Christmas tree.... and then Kill them. As ... honestly given how big Godzilla is and the blasts sheer power, it's GOT to be a FUCKING CRAP LOAD of pure radiation being poured out. Seriously the CLOSEST Real world thing that is close to how much radiation that breath gives off would be at the very center of the reactors in CHERNOBYL... but made into A GOD-DAMN LASER BREATH!

Then would terrorize the living SHIT out of the Pacific Rim universe and he'd be the KING OF THE MONSTERS!

Four Jaegers vs. one monster?  Godzilla vs. Slattern is more like it. =3  But nice concept!
